Colorado Horsepower

equine programs for veterans and first responders

Welcome

Our programs are crafted to enhance the lives of veterans, active duty and first-responders through the power of connecting with something bigger than themselves – literally and figuratively. Through horsemanship, the men and women in our programs learn life skills that apply beyond the barn: leadership, confidence, compassion, nonverbal communication, problem-solving and more.

We are a 501 (c) 3 with deep roots in Douglas County. What started in 1984 as equine-assisted therapy for people with disabilities has grown into a program focusing on horsemanship for heroes.
